Girls Basketball:

Claremont threw a monkey wrench into the Palomares League title chase.

Last week, the Wolfpack handed Glendora its first league loss (55-47) on Wednesday.

On Monday, Claremont knocked Bonita out of a first-place tie with GHS by edging the Bearcats, 46-42.

With a single game remaining, GHS leads BHS and CHS by one game, and they travel to Bonita on Wednesday in the regular season finale.

A Bearcats win would mean a three-way share of the Palomares championship with Glendora and Claremont.

CHS outscored BHS in each of the first three quarters, and they took a 32-23 lead into the fourth period.

Bonita went on a 19-14 run in the fourth, but they came up just short.

Jessica Lopez led Claremont with 13 points, including four 3-pointers.

Khrysma Johnson and Mia Montejo contributed nine points apiece for the Wolfpack.

Montejo connected on three 3-pointers, and Johnson had one.

Serenity Henderson had a game-high 14 points for Bonita.

Lexi Mercado hit three 3’s and finished with 11 points.

Brooke Van Duyne had eight points, and Jordy DeMott chipped in with six.
