Girls Wrestling:
That steamroller known as the Northview girls wrestling program continued to mow over opponents on Saturday.
The Vikings earned a spot in the CIF-SS Division 1 finals on Tuesday at Northview High.
NHS defeated Centennial Corona, 75-3, in the first round.
In the quarters, the Vikings sent Poly back to Long Beach with a 55-18 beatdown.
And to earn their spot in the D-1 title match, Northview got by Walnut, 43-30, in the semifinal round.
Marie Saldana (105), Samantha Rivera (115), Ysabella Hinojosa (120), Sumaya Lazaro (135), Faith Bartoszek (140/145) and Andrea Mateo (155/170) all went 3-0 on Saturday.
Mia Sanchez went 2-0 at 110 pounds.
Samantha Felix (130), Savanna Pratt (155) and Rebecca Juarez (170) went 1-0 for NHS.
Reilgh Hayes (100), Mia Hooper (125), Juliet Salazar (130/135), Trinity Palumbo (145) and 190-pound Leyla Juarez won two of their three matches.
