Boys Basketball:
Walnut is now just one win away from setting up a winner-take-all scenario for the Hacienda League championship.
On Thursday, the Mustangs outlasted Rowland, 55-47, behind 19 points from Myles Wainwright.
With two games to play, Walnut (7-1) is tied for first with Los Altos.
WHS will host South Hills on Tuesday.
And with a win, they’d welcome Los Altos to their gym on Thursday for an outright league championship.
They also have a chance to avenge an 18-point loss to the Conquerors back on Jan. 16.
Nathan Yen contributed 12 points.
Corey Fluker had eight and Isaiah Leon scored six points in the win.
