Girls Basketball:

Claremont just made the last week of the Palomares League title chase a lot more interesting.

The Wolfpack defeated Glendora, 55-47, and handed the Tartans their first loss in league.

With three games to play, Glendora and Bonita are now tied atop the league standings and Claremont is just one-game back of the Tartans and Bearcats.

CHS took a 14-point lead into the half only to see Glendora pull to within three of the Wolfpack.

Claremont, though, went on a 15-10 run in the fourth quarter to quell any hopes of a late-game GHS rally.

Khrysma Johnson scored a game-high 18 points.

Maryah Anderson and Mia Montejo added 11 points apiece in Wednesday’s home win.

Reagan Herrmann led Glendora with 15 points.

Rylie Anderson connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.

Brianna Gomez chipped in with 10 points.
