Girls Basketball:
Flintridge Prep won its 18th consecutive game on Friday, including eight in Prep League play.
The Wolves were locked in an 8-8 tie at Rio Hondo Prep after the first eight minutes.
But they would outscore the Kares, 41-12, between the second and third periods to pull away from RHP.
Maddie Smith had 23 points and six steals.
Akemi Fu finished with 10 points, and Gigi Mastras had seven.
Tara Riley led RHP with 16 points and three steals.
Madelyn Van Cleve chipped in with seven points and five rebounds, and Evonny Ortega contributed six points and a pair of steals.
Emma Carson didn’t score, but she totaled five rebounds, six assists and four steals.
The Wolves have the opportunity to officially secure the outright Prep League championship on Wednesday with a victory over their visitors from Providence.
