Ayala secured at least a share of the Palomares League championship on Thursday.

The Bulldogs traveled to Alta Loma, and they pinned their way to a 60-18 victory.

Unlike last year, AHS will not be sharing the league title with Bonita and Alta Loma.

And this coming Tuesday, they’ll be able to secure an undefeated and outright league championship.

Ayala won 11 of their 14 matches on Thursday, and seven came via pin-fall.

Jayren Chan (106 pounds) was awarded a win via forfeit.

BK Martinez (113) continues to dominate her male counterparts, and she picked up another league pin.

Jacob Kim (120) claimed a decision victory.

Alta Loma’s Brayden Berry and Zain Khan picked up pin-fall victories at 126 and 132 pounds, respectively.

Ayala would get three consecutive pins by John Gonzales (138), Diego Eligio (144) and Mason Eligio (150).

After Landon Rupright (157) won by major decision, Jacob Rosales (165) and Jeshua Hennerty (175) secured pins for AHS.

Angel Cesma was awarded a forfeit at 190 pounds, and then the Bulldogs forfeited their match at 215.

Just as he did against Bonita, Ayala heavyweight Carlos Britt closed out a Palomares League dual with a pin.

While they still have one more match to go, AHS coach Grant Brunier, his staff and their wrestlers should be very proud of what they’ve accomplished in 2023-24.
