Bonita Dominates Claremont, 70-11, in Thursday’s Palomares League Dual; Bearcats Win 12 of 14 Matches

Wrestling:

Bonita improved to 3-1 in Palomares League matches thanks to Thursday’s 70-11 victory at Claremont.

The Bearcats claimed 12 victories in the 14 matches.

Seven came via pin, three were forfeits and two technical falls.

The dual began at 106 pounds.

And BHS got out to a 30-0 lead.

Lucas Lucero (106), James Weitzel (113), Paulo Simando (126) and Dylan Garcia (132) all won via pin fall.

Nico Vasquez won by forfeit at 120 pounds.

Claremont’s Pedro Yanez secured a pin at 138, and Eduard Ryan Libunao had a tech fall at 144 pounds to close to within 30-11.

Bonita, though, finished off the dual with seven consecutive wins.

Tristan Fernandez (150) won via tech fall.

Nathan Ebel (157) and Thomas Jiminez (165) earned pin-fall victories.

Cole Parra won his 175-pound match by technical fall.

Michael Martinez (190) and Matthew Mijares (215) were awarded forfeit victories.

And Bonita heavyweight, Vincent Lucero, finished off the dual in style with a pin.
