Girls Basketball:
Bonita got a balanced effort in Wednesday’s 65-33 Palomares League blowout victory over visiting Ayala.
The Bearcats improved to 3-0 in league games, and they remain in a first-place tie with Glendora.
BHS led 36-21 at the half, and they went on a 29-12 run in the second half.
Lexi Mercado led Bonita with 18 points, and that included a pair of 3-pointers.
Sophomore Tressa Beatty hit three 3’s and finished with 17 points in the win.
Ayala’s Rachel Chen had a game-high 22 points, and she had three 3-pointers of her own.
Brooke Van Duyne contributed 11 for Bonita, and Jordy Demott had seven points.
Up next: Ayala will travel to Alta Loma, and Bonita hosts Claremont on Friday.
