Girls Basketball:

The first two names that come to mind when talking about the Glendora girls basketball program would be their leading scorers, Rylie Anderson and Brianna Gomez.

But what makes this GHS team so good is their balance, and knowing that a number of girls can step up at any moment and make a game-changing contribution.

On Friday, in a back-and-forth contest with a very good Claremont team, the game was tied at 40-40.

Rebekah Zweerink’s jumper with five seconds to play, however, led the Tartans to a dramatic 42-40 victory over the visiting Wolfpack.

Brianna Gomez hit three 3-pointers, and she finished with a game-high 14 points.

Rylie Anderson chipped in with 11 points.

Reagan Herrmann and Zweerink contributed six points apiece.

Suraya Haqq led Claremont with 12 points.

And Khrysma Johnson had 10 for the Wolfpack.
