Girls Basketball:
Two days after dropping its first game of the 2023-24 season, La Salle was back in Del Rey League action on Thursday evening.
And for the second consecutive game, the Lancers traveled to a league opponent.
This time, they headed home with a W.
La Salle defeated St. Paul, 52-36, and improved to 1-1 in league games.
The Lancers went on a 25-15 run in the second half.
Casey Higgins led the way with 15 points.
All 12 of Kaden Cortes’ points came from beyond the 3-point arc.
Maddy Chiang hit three 3’s and contributed 11 points in the win.
Loretta Aguirre had a game-high 18 points for St. Paul.
La Salle had an 8-4 advantage in 3-pointers.
Up next: The Lancers host Oakwood on Tuesday at 6.
