Boys Athlete of the Week:
What a start to the 2023-24 season its been for the Pasadena basketball program and their senior guard, Jovan Jester.
The Bulldogs won the season-opening Rose City Classic in which Jester was named the tournament’s MVP.
PHS went to Las Vegas for the Tarkanian Classic, and they went 3-1.
And on Saturday, Pasadena secured the Silver Division championship at the prestigious Classic at Damien Tournament.
PHS defeated Albany (Northern California), Tahoma of Maple Valley, Washington, Roosevelt of Seattle, and the San Gabriel Academy.
Jester scored 99 points in the four wins.
The Pasadena senior had 32 points in the title-game victory over the SGA, and 39 in a quarterfinal round win over Tahoma.
PHS is now 15-1.
