Girls Basketball:
Bonita opened play at the Ontario Christian Tournament on Tuesday morning with a 72-37 blowout victory over Sonora.
The Bearcats led 39-18 at the half, and they never looked back.
Lexi Mercado had a game-high 20 points for BHS.
Amiah Lewis led Sonora with 14 points and Kiana Graham chipped in with 12.
Jordy Demott and Naomi Acuna finished with 13 points apiece in the win.
Serenity Henderson contributed 12 points, Brooke Van Duyne had nine and Tressa Beatty scored five points.
Up next: The Bearcats are back in action this afternoon (Wednesday) at 3:30, as they battle Cajon.
The Cowboys (3-9) are coming off a 60-point beatdown at the hands of Ontario Christian.
