Boys Basketball:
Ayala won its third consecutive game on Friday.
But it didn’t come easy.
AHS needed overtime to secure a 63-57 victory at Keppel.
The Aztecs outscored the Bulldogs, 26-20, in the second half, and they were able to force an overtime period.
But Ayala closed out the game on an 11-5 run.
Jaydin Maddox scored 25 points in the win, and that included a pair of 3-pointers.
Josiah Yang contributed 14 points, including a pair of 3’s, and he went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Ethan Ly had a game-high 28 points for Keppel, and Kyle Tam chipped in with 12 points.
Up next: The Bulldogs host Wilson on Wednesday, and on Friday, they open Palomares League action against visiting Glendora High.
