Boys Basketball:
Damien just mowed down the field at the Riverside Kiwanis Tournament.
The Spartans claimed the tourney title after Friday’s 75-46 victory over Riverside Poly.
DHS defeated Ramona, ML King, Arlington and Poly by a combined score of 309-155.
Damien beat King, Arlington and Poly by 29 points each, and hammered Ramona by 67.
Xavier Clinton scored 19 points and was named the tournament’s MVP.
Nate Garcia had 18, Elijah Smith 14, Eli Garner 12 and Jacob Allen chipped in with six points, and all four earned all-tournament honors.
Kory Dodson led Poly with 12 points.
Up next: Damien will host San Gabriel Academy on Wednesday at 7.
