Girls Basketball:
One year ago, almost to the day, the San Dimas girls basketball program came into Bonita’s gym and handed the Bearcats a one-point loss.
Fast forward 364 days, and Bonita paid San Dimas back, and then some.
In a game that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score might indicate, BHS claimed a 51-38 victory at SDHS.
Bonita took a 42-21 lead into the fourth quarter before San Dimas closed the game on a 17-9 run.
BHS got a balanced effort on the offensive end.
The Bearcats got 11 points each from Tressa Beatty, Lexi Mercado, Serenity Henderson and Brooke Van Duyne.
Mercado (3), Beatty (2) and Henderson (2) combined to hit seven 3-pointers, and BHS had a 9-3 advantage over SDHS from beyond the 3-point line.
Naomi Acuna chipped in with seven points in Monday’s road win.
San Dimas’ Jaelyn Ramos had a game-high 14 points and she hit two of San Dimas’ three 3-pointers.
Kamora Fletcher finished with six points and Janessa Rodriguez, Olivia Romero and Priscilla Romero had five points apiece for the Saints.
