Boys Basketball:
What a start to the 2023-24 season for the Pasadena boys basketball program.
The Bulldogs handed Crespi its first loss of the season, 53-50, in Saturday’s championship game of the Rose City Classic.
According to their MaxPreps page, PHS hadn’t begun a season 4-0 since 2007-08.
Desmond Every scored 19 points, and he grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists for Pasadena.
Jovan Jester was named the RCC MVP, and he finished on Saturday with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals.
Gavin Hollins-Law added four points, four assists, three blocks and one rebound to earn all-tournament honors with Desmond Every.
Up next: The Bulldogs open Pacific League play on Tuesday, and they will host Crescenta Valley at 5:15.
