Jordan Barton Throws for 524 Yards & Four TD’s in Riverside’s 51-48 Victory at Mt. SAC in So Cal Regional Semifinal Playoff Game

What a game.

Riverside needed 616 yards of total offense to edge Mt. SAC, 51-48, in Saturday’s Southern California Regional semifinal round playoff game in Walnut.

The Mounties had the home-field advantage because of Fullerton’s one-point victory over Riverside in the regular season finale two weeks ago.

Fast forward to Saturday, and RCC would overcome a 38-21 deficit late in the second quarter to earn a spot in the So Cal final against Ventura.

Riverside outscored Mt. SAC, 27-10, in the second half.

Jordan Barton completed 34-of-49 for 524 yards.

Barton had TD passes of 22, 9, 74 and 21 yards.

The RCC offense got 36 first downs, as compared to 19 for Mt. SAC.

Ayinde Bankole’s 2-yard TD run with 27 seconds remaining was the difference.

Bryce Strong had 109 yards rushing on 19 carries, and that included TD runs of 9 and 11 yards.

Jacqueze Modica had seven catches for 105 yards and one score.

Jesse Campbell caught seven passes for 81 yards in Saturday’s win.

Nicholas Floyd had a monster game for MSAC.

Floyd carried the ball 23 times for 213 yards.

He had TD runs of 46, 50 and 35 yards.

Samuel Green gained 100 yards on just six carries.

Green’s 46-yard TD run late in the third quarter gave Mt. SAC a 45-31 lead.

Alex Flores completed 12-of-20 for 143 yards.

Flores hooked up with De’Shon Thompson on a 17-yard TD strike just 23 seconds into the game.

The first score was set up by a 77-yard kickoff return by Devon Miles.

Thompson had five catches for 54 yards and the score.

Jordan Williams had three receptions for 50 yards.

Juan Salas picked off a Barton pass and brought it back 24 yards for a TD.

It extended the Mounties lead at the time to 31-14.

Mt. SAC’s Diego Esqueda booted a 25-yard field goal, and Mathias Uribe converted on a 35-yarder for the Mounties.

Salas had a game-high 12 tackles for MSAC.

Riverside had the ball for more than 10 minutes longer than Mt. SAC.

Shamar Hawkins had eight tackles and Kaylon Bradley finished with seven tackles.
