Boys Basketball:
Damien is off to a 4-0 start to the 2023-24 season.
And the Spartans have been nothing short of dominant.
In wins over Sunny Hills, Arlington, Villa Park and Canyon by a combined margin of 280-166, Damien is 4-0 at the Sunny Hills Tournament.
After a day off on Thursday, the Spartans cruised to a 76-34 victory over the previously unbeaten Comanches.
DHS outscored CHS, 21-9, in the first quarter, and 26-4 in the fourth period.
For the first time this year, Nate Garcia led Damien in scoring.
The 7-foot junior had a game-high 20 points.
Eli Garner (17), Xavier Clinton (14), Jacob Allen (11) and Lucas Arrieta (8) combined to score 50 points in the win.
Jaden Goodall led Canyon with 19 points.
Up next: The Spartans face off with La Mirada tonight (Saturday) at 7:30 for the Sunny Hills Tournament championship.
