Boys Basketball:
Damien is now 3-0 to start the 2023 season after Wednesday’s 61-54 victory over Villa Park at the Sunny Hills Tournament.
The Spartans got out to a 27-13 lead, and they were able to withstand VPHS runs in the second and fourth quarters.
Xavier Clinton had a game-high 21 points for Damien, and that included a pair of 3’s.
Eli Garner had 18 points, and he would score all eight fourth-quarter points for DHS.
Malakai Johnson led Villa Park with 20 points, and Dakari Harris chipped in with 13.
Nate Garcia scored 13 in Wednesday’s win.
