After opening the 2023 season with a 10-point loss to La Serna on Monday, the Ayala basketball program was back at it on Tuesday.
And the Bulldogs made the best of it, defeating Ontario Christian, 70-64, at the Rumble for Rosecrans Tournament.
Three of the four quarters were determined by two points or less, but in the second period, AHS outscored OCHS, 12-6.
Jaydin Maddox had a game-high 25 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Maddox was 2-of-5 from beyond the 3-point line, and he went 9-for-9 on his free-throw attempts.
Christian Martinez chipped in with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Max Ma had 19 points, and Alex Yang contributed 18 points for Ontario Christian.
Josiah Yang (8), Jeremy Serrano (7) and Joshua Townsell (6) combined for 21 points in Tuesday’s win.
