Colony claimed an outright Citrus 4 League championship on Friday night.

The Titans defeated their host from Glendora, 22-21, at Citrus College.

Colony (7-3, 3-0) scored the first 16 points of the game.

And then the Titans held off the Tartans, thanks to a pair of picks in the end zone and a missed 27-yard field goal with 5:27 to play.

Kekoa Josiah was the offensive star of the night.

Josiah caught a 27-yard TD pass from Anthony Johnson less than three minutes into Friday’s game.

Josiah expanded the Colony lead to 13-0 after his 2-yard TD run.

Luke Perez booted a 43-yard field goal, and the Titans held a 16-0 lead with 20 seconds remaining in the half.

Thirteen seconds later, Glendora showed its first sign of life.

Eric Najarro tossed a 58-yard TD to Tim Johnson, and the Tartans trailed, 16-7, at the half.

Najarro and Johnson connected again, this time, a 1o-yarder, and the Colony lead was 16-14.

Glendora took its first lead of the game with 1:03 to play in the third quarter, when Matthew Jordan rumbled in from three yards out.

Colony would answer shortly thereafter, as Josiah scored on a 13-yard run.

The 2-point conversion failed and the Titans lead stood at 22-21 with 9:41 remaining in the game.

As mentioned, GHS had a 27-yard field goal attempt, but they were not able to cash it in.

Najarro went 12-of-17 for 186 yards.

The GHS senior threw a pair of TD’s and picks.

He also rushed for 23 yards on four carries.

Johnson had six catches for 83 yards and the two scores.

And Jordan gained 19 yards on 10 carries.

Jacob Monroe broke up two passes, while Caden Smith and Christopher Solis-Lumar broke up one pass each from the GHS defensive backfield.
