College Football:

Had you heard that PCC scored 20 points and its star quarterback threw four interceptions, including two that got returned for TD’s, the obvious conclusion would be a Lancers’ loss.

That actually wasn’t the case on Saturday night.

PCC left LA Pierce with a 20-17 victory, and improved to 2-0 in American Pacific Conference games.

Kekahi Graham, who has been remarable all year, completed 19-of-31 for 126 yards.

Graham didn’t throw a TD pass, and, as mentioned, he was picked four times.

Stefan Roberts had 45-and-17-yard pick-sixes to give LA Pierce a 14-7 lead in the first quarter.

The Lancers defense allowed just three points all night.

Graham did have a 2-yard TD run to tie the score at 14-14 in the second quarter.

PCC got 34-and-35-yard field goals from Justin Vergara at 10:51 and 5:15 of the third and fourth quarters, respectively.

The latter of the two ended up being the game-winning points.

Isaac Glover had a game-high 87 yards on 15 carries.

Mohammad Maali gained 47 yards on six carries, and that included a 3-yard TD run the first quarter.

PCC’s first lead of the game came on Vergara’s third-quarter field goal.

Marcelo Asan-Or, however, booted a 28-yard field goal with 4:20 to play in the third period to catch the Lancers.

But thankfully for PCC, Vergara’s leg had one more FG in it to secure victory No. 6 in 2023.

William Parra had five catches for 37 yards, Greg Moore caught two passes for 34 yards, and Daniel Schwam had three receptions for 27 yards.

Idriq Carmichael had a big game with four tackles and two picks.

Devon Mayes led the Lancers with seven tackles, while Jachai Pulley, Kyden Bailey, Israel Duncan and Elijah Lewis had five tackles apiece.

Stefan Roberts had five tackles to go with his two pick-sixes for LA Pierce.

Up next: PCC will host LA Southwest next Saturday.
