South Hills improved to 4-3 on Friday night after its 54-41 victory over visiting Don Lugo.
There were many contributors in white and green, but Matt Moreno had a game that any running back would dream of having.
Moreno, a two-sport (baseball & football) star, who will play baseball at Loyola Marymount in 2025, put the Huskies on his back in a high-scoring affair with the Conquistadores.
He carried the ball 25 times for 260 yards.
And that included six rushing TD’s.
In all, Moreno had TD runs of 1, 21, 7, 35, 4 and 2 yards.
Instead of taking credit for his career-best performance, Moreno wanted to give the praise to his offensive line for opening holes all night long.
South Hills is currently riding a three-game win streak, and they open Citrus 4 League play this coming Thursday when they host Colony.
