South Hills Pounds Out 41-7 Victory Over Claremont; Huskies Improve to 3-3 After 245 Rushing Yards on Friday

Football:

South Hills won its second consecutive game on Friday night.

And the Huskies did so in dominating form.

South Hills cruised to a 41-7 victory over their visitors from Claremont to even their season record at 3-3.

Over the last two weeks, the Huskies have wins over El Monte and CHS by a combined margin of 90-24.

The program keeps making positive strides behind their young head coach, Jacob Calderon.

Gary San Angelo carried the ball 10 times for 105 yards.

San Angelo scored three TD’s, including 10-and-7-yard scoring runs, and a 16-yard TD catch.

Cesar Lizaola connected with Sebastian Morinaga on a second-quarter, 38-yard screen pass for another score.

In the third quarter, Lizaola hit Danny Resendiz on a 62-yard TD pass.

Tyler Casal, who Calderon described as ‘our bruising running back,’ had 22 carries for 77 yards to help SHHS continues to move the chains.

In the fourth, Morinaga had a 42-yard TD run.

He finished with 64 yards on eight carries.

The Huskies rushed for 245 yards in Friday’s win.

Lizaola completed eight passes for 140 yards and 3 TD’s.

Up next: The Huskies and Wolfpack will both be in action this Friday.

South Hills will host Don Lugo.

The Conquistadores (1-5) were on the wrong end of a 31-0 shutout at the hands of visiting San Dimas.

And Claremont travels to Chino.

The Cowboys (5-1) secured a 42-17 victory at Cerritos on Thursday night.
