College Football:
PCC improved to 4-0 on Saturday night.
And the Lancers did so decisively.
They got a balanced effort in a 43-14 victory over Victory Valley.
The PCC defense surrendered just 164 yards of total offense, and the Rams could muster just 40 yards on the ground.
VVC and PCC were tied at 7-7 after the first 15 minutes.
But the Lancers would score the next 36 points to pull away.
Kekahi Graham completed 15-of-23 for 143 yards.
Graham hit Jacob Turowetz on a 3-yard scoring strike just 2:58 into the game to give the Lancers a 7-0 lead.
He also found Daniel Schwam on a 54-yard TD late in the second quarter.
Isaac Glover carried the ball 13 times for 62 yards, and that included TD runs of 17 and 2 yards.
Wyatt Oak also saw some action, and he tossed a 16-yard TD to Damien Gonzales to extend the PCC lead to 43-14.
Twelve separate Lancers’ receivers had at least one reception in Saturday’s win.
Tremel Echols struggled mightily.
Echols completed 7-of-19 for just 50 yards.
Jalen Yancy got Victor Valley on the board just 17 seconds after PCC scored, as he threw a 74-yard TD pass to Jacob Staley.
Teshawn Cleveland and Deshawn Minor combined to gain 59 yards on 23 carries for the Rams.
Julius Ray had a monster game on defense for PCC.
Ray totaled 11 tackles, including 2.5 sacks and five tackles for-loss.
PCC had six sacks and 18 tackles for a loss of 103 yards.
In four games to start the 2023 season, they’ve outscored Santa Ana, West LA, Desert and Victory Valley by a combined margin of 227-75.
Up next: The unbeaten Lancers travel to 4-0 Chaffey next Saturday at 6.
The Panthers throttled LA Southwest, 62-25, on Saturday.
