Girls Athlete of the Week:
After a slow start, the Marshall Fundamental girls volleyball program seems to have found its stride.
This past week, the Eagles played three Mission Valley League matches.
On Monday, Marshall swept South El Monte.
Two days later, the Eagles would claim a four-set victory at Arroyo.
And they finished off a successful week on Friday with a sweep over El Monte.
Marshall got contributions from everyone on the court.
But a senior outside hitter named Evelyn Mkhitarian had a starring role.
In fact, she’s the MVL leader in kills thus far.
