Football:
Eric Najarro had a quarterback’s dream night on Thursday.
The Tartans senior tossed six TD passes to four different receivers in a 49-7 victory at Pacifica.
And Najarro did it in three quarters of work.
GHS officially improved their season record to 4-0 after a running clock in the fourth quarter.
Najarro’s first score came on a 70-yard strike to Tim Johnson to give the Tartans a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Glendora would score four times in the second period and took a 35-0 lead into the break.
Decker DeGraaf had a 33-yard TD reception from Najarro to extend the advantage to 14-0.
Christopher Solis-Lumar caught a six-yard TD from Najarro, and then Johnson reeled in TD receptions of 32 and 12 yards in the second quarter.
Colby Lippert had Najarro’s sixth TD of the night, which totaled five yards in length, and GHS led 42-0.
Melkon Mouradian sprinted into the end zone from 42 yards out for the Tartans final score of the night.
Najarro finished an effective 17-of-23 for 285 yards and the six TD’s.
Johnson had five catches for 152 yards and three scores.
DeGraaf caught seven passes for 96 yards and one TD.
Lippert had three catches for 16 yards and one score, and Solis-Lumar’s one reception was the 6-yard TD from Najarro.
Simon Zwick carried the ball 11 times for 44 yards.
And Mouradian gained 55 yards on two carries, including the last score of the night for GHS.
The GHS defense had interceptions from Jacob Monroe and Danny Belzl, and a fumble recovery from Christopher Cedano.
Up next: Glendora will host Etiwanda next Friday in a battle of unbeatens.
