Girls Athlete of the Week:
After opening the 2023 season 0-2, the Rancho Cucamonga girls volleyball program has won eight of their last 10 matches.
And the Cougars are currently riding a four-match win streak.
This past week, RCHS went 3-0.
On Monday and Tuesday, the Cougars swept Ayala and Bonita, respectively.
They closed out the week with a five-set victory over Corona Santiago to improve to 8-4.
Everyone in a Rancho Cucamonga uniform contributed to the 3-0 week, but it was junior outside hitter Carina Zaldivar that played a starring role.
The Cougars captain tallied 25 kills, 10 aces and 31 digs.
