Football:
In 2022, it took La Salle three weeks to not only pick up their first victory, but also to surpass 40 total points offensively.
Fast forward to week zero of 2023, and the Lancers are 1-0 after Thursday’s 42-14 victory over their visitors from Mary Star of the Sea.
Zachary Lifton had a big first game behind center.
Lifton completed 15-of-26 pass attempts for 292 yards.
sAnd that included four TD’s.
Aidan Leyland caught five passes for 156 yards and two TD’s.
Mauricio Pavon had a game-high seven catches for 76 yards and a score.
And Drew Ward caught two passes for 55 yards and one TD.
David Vanden Bosch led the La Salle ground game.
Vanden Bosch carried the ball 22 times for 124 yards.
He scored twice and punched it in on a 2-point conversion.
Isaiah Carrillo and David Vanden Bosch picked off one pass each.
Up next: The Lancers will host Xavier Prep next Friday at 6.
The Saints will enter the game 0-0, after Friday’s contest with Coachella Valley was postponed due to lightning.
