Najarro Tosses 3 TD Passes & Scores on a 1-Yard Run w/18 Seconds to Play in Glendora’s 28-24 Victory at Chino Hills

Trailing 24-21 with 18 seconds to play at Chino Hills, Glendora quarterback Eric Najarro scored on a 1-yard TD run to give the Tartans a 28-24 lead.

Tim Johnson officially sealed the GHS victory 15 seconds later with a pick.

Najarro completed 15 of his 30 pass attempts for 234 yards and three TD’s.

He rushed for 22 yards on seven carries, including the game-winning 1-yard run.

Simon Zwick carried the ball 13 times for 15 yards, and had five catches for 93 yards, including a 65-yard TD to get GHS even at 7-7.

Johnson tallied three receptions for 74 yards to go along with his pick on defense.

Decker DeGraaf caught four passes for 36 yards and one TD.

Chino Hills’ Nolan Ellison got the Huskies on the board first, as he connected with Jake Morgan on an 82-yard TD pass.

Ellison then hit Cameron Bateman on a 24-yard score to get CHHS even at 14-14.

Ellison’s 14-yard TD run allowed the Huskies to catch the Tartans at 21-21.

Chino Hills took a 24-21 lead when Jordan Corona booted a 37-yard field goal with 9:27 to play.

But the GHS defense would hold the Huskies offense scoreless the rest of the way.

Up next: The Tartans will travel to Jurupa Hills next Thursday at 7.

The Spartans (0-0) had a week-zero bye.

Chino Hills will host Charter Oak on Friday.

The Chargers defeated Temecula Valley, 24-14, in their season opener.
