Boys Volleyball:
Upland’s magical 2023 season finally came to an end on Tuesday.
But it took the third ranked team in the state to accomplish that feat.
Three nights after steamrolling their way to a CIF-SS Division 2 championship, the Highlanders were put in the CIF State Division 1 bracket.
And UHS got swept at Corona del Mar.
The Sea Kings won by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-20.
Aiden DuFour had 33 assists and three blocks.
AJ Contreras led UHS with 13 kills.
Kai Vogel contributed nine kills.
Isaiah Vogel finished with eight kills.
Cameron Farrehyar chipped in with four kills, and Ali Eltahir had three kills for the Highlanders.
Joey Chute provided three digs.
The Baseline League and CIF-SS Division 2 champs will certainly miss the Vogel brothers in 2024, but they return almost everyone else.
