Boys Volleyball:
One year after being swept in the CIF-SS Division 3 finals, Upland wrote their names into the history books.
And they did so in Division 2.
The Highlanders dropped the first game against Tesoro in the D-2 title match.
But Upland regrouped and claimed victory by scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-14 and 25-23.
AJ Contreras had a team-high 19 kills.
Isaiah Vogel contributed 17 kills.
Kai Vogel added eight kills and six digs.
Aiden DuFour finished with 37 assists and 12 digs.
Joey Chute chipped in with seven digs, and Ali Eltahir had four blocks.
And Cameron Farrehyar provided three kills for UHS.
Up next: The Highlanders will get their state playoff opponent this afternoon (Sunday) and they’re all but guaranteed a home match.
