Brandon Luu ended Damien’s season on Friday.
Luu tossed a five-hit shutout in Villa Park’s 3-0 victory in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
Luu didn’t issue a walk and struck out nine.
Julian Hines had two of the Spartans five hits.
Tyler Daley, Dom Ramirez and Christian Grino had one hit apiece for Damien.
Andrew Carter went all six for Damien.
He surrendered three runs (two earned) on six hits.
Carter didn’t walk anyone and struck out six.
Gavin Grahovac singled, hit a solo home run and scored two runs.
Andrew Grove had a single and an RBI.
AJ Krodel was hit by pitch and scored.
