Boys Volleyball:
On Wednesday evening, Upland earned a spot in this Saturday’s semifinal round.
And for the first time since their playoff opener, the Highlanders get a home match.
All that thanks to a four-set victory at Orange Lutheran in the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.
The Highlanders defeated the Lancers by scores of 25-23, 17-25, 25-18 and 25-23.
Kai Vogel had a team-high 19 kills.
AJ Contreras and Isaiah Vogel produced 17 and 11 kills, respectively, for UHS.
Joey Chute finished with five digs and what was described as “three huge aces.”
And Aiden DuFour chipped in with 49 assists.
Up next: Upland will host Redondo Union on Saturday at 6.
The Seahawks (26-10) swept Santa Barbara by scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-21.
