Baseball:
Maranatha closed out its 2023 regular season by dominating Serra, 7-0, on Friday.
Zach Strickland, AJ Beltre and AJ Campana combined on a one-hit shutout.
Strickland went three, allowed one hit, walked two and struck out five.
Beltre also provided three innings, issued one walk and fanned five Serra batters.
And Campana didn’t allow a hit or walk and struck out one.
Shomari Kudumu-Hom had the lone base hit for the Cavaliers.
Kaleb Romero was roughed up for seven runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks over his two innings.
Dylan Zdunek singled, doubled, scored twice and had a pair of RBIs.
Dough Zuniga singled, doubled and scored.
Cider Canon walked, singled and scored twice.
Bryan Richman walked and scored.
Eric Zdunek had an RBI single.
Isaac Ton went 2-for-3.
Hudson Story and AJ Beltre had one single apiece for the Minutemen.
Maranatha enters the postseason having won eight of their last 10 games.
