Baseball:

It goes without saying that San Marino is playing its best baseball.

As has been mentioned, the Titans dropped their first four Rio Hondo League games, each of which were one-run setbacks.

Since then, San Marino has won seven straight, including Monday’s 6-5 victory at Monrovia.

Of the nine starters, eight Titans had at least one hit.

And the Wildcats defense committed seven errors.

Andrew Cito got the loss, allowing five unearned runs over four innings.

Cito surrendered two hits, walked one and fanned one SMHS batter.

Ryan Park singled twice, scored and had an RBI.

Tyler Giddings walked, singled and scored.

Kyle Ly single, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.

Truman Koch, Sebastian Liquori, Coleman Morning and JJ Wilson singled and scored one run apiece.

Michael Liquori went the distance to earn the win.

Liquori allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits.

He walked a pair and struck out five Monrovia batters.

Noah Ellison went 3-for-4, including a two-run home run, and scored three times.

Joshua Griffiths had three singles and two RBIs.

Camden Conklin singled and had one RBI.

Silas Brusseau singled and scored.

Jack Zinn walked twice and scored.

With one game to play, if South Pasadena and San Marino tied, the Titans would get the nod, because they won their head-to-head series, 2-1.
