It didn’t take South Hills long to respond to a disappointing loss at Diamond Bar.

One day after a one-run loss at DBHS, the Huskies jumped on La Quinta for four first-innings runs.

And South Hills would claim a 5-1 victory.

Steven Jimenez went four innings and allowed one unearned run on one hit.

Jimenez walked one and struck out six.

Troy Enoki singled and scored.

Max Mora and Mark Mendoza doubled, while Dylan Nelson and Anthony Murdica singled.

Mora got the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits over two innings.

He walked two and fanned a pair of Huskies.

Matt Moreno singled twice and scored.

Paul Vazquez singled, doubled and scored a pair of runs.

Marcos Rosales had two doubles, a run and drove in a pair.

Noah Malone walked, singled and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Jimenez singled and scored.

Luke Bauer singled once in Saturday’s win.

Up next: The Huskies close out the regular season with Rowland.

South Hills travels on Wednesday, and welcomes the Raiders on Friday.
