Burbank Hands Arcadia First Pacific League Loss, 9-2, on Friday; Apaches Trail CV by One Game w/Two to Play

If Arcadia wins an outright Pacific League championship in 2023, it will need a two-game sweep of Crescenta Valley next week.

Entering Friday, the Apaches and Falcons were both 11-0 in league play.

But after Burbank handed AHS a 9-2 home loss, and the Falcons defeated Burroughs, 10-3, Crescenta Valley takes a one-game lead.

Gabriel Lopez got the loss, allowing five runs on six hits over three innings.

Lopez walked two and fanned a pair.

Julian Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and four RBIs.

Danny Betancourt singled twice, scored and had one RBI.

Jimmy Cafferty walked, singled twice, drove in a run and scored.

Bryant Johnson singled and drove in a run.

Dylan Kramer singled and hit a solo HR.

Ryan Sebastion singled, doubled and scored two runs.

Jimmy Cafferty went 6 2/3 and surrendered two runs (one earned) on six hits.

Cafferty walked four and fanned 10 AHS batters.

Devon Eskridge singled and had an RBI.

Fernando Palencia singled and scored.

Kennan Wilson singled and scored.

Christian Garcia doubled and Avery Truesdale singled for the Apaches.

Up next: Arcadia will host CV on Tuesday and the Falcons welcome the Apaches on Friday night.

Both games are set for 7.
