College Baseball:
LA Harbor got three runs in the top of the first inning at Brookside Park on Thursday.
But that’s all the Seahawks would get off Coleman Mitchell and Nathan Mertens.
PCC cruised to a 14-3 SCC victory and sit just one-game back of second-place Rio Hondo College with four to play.
Coleman Mitchell went six innings to earn the win.
Mitchell allowed three runs on seven hits.
He walked three and fanned a trio of LA Harbor batters.
Nathan Mertens got the final three outs.
He surrendered just one hit, didn’t issue a walk and fanned three.
Julian Rodriguez went 2-for-5 and scored.
James Provencio singled twice and doubled.
Troy Harding had two singles and scored once.
Gabriel Courtright was charged with eight runs (six earned) on three hits over four innings.
Courtright walked seven and struck out a pair of PCC batters.
Jakob Guardado went 2-for-5 with two walks, a three-run home run and five RBIs.
Aryonis Harrison walked, singled and scored three times.
Jake Trabbie walked, doubled, scored twice and had an RBI.
Toshiki Kuriya drew a pair of walks, singled, drove in two and scored.
Amaris Harrison walked, singled, scored and had an RBI.
Damien Ureta singled and scored.
Tommy Castillo walked twice, scored three runs and had an RBI.
Matt Rice drew three walks, scored twice and finished with one RBI.
