Marshall Fundamental Crushes El Monte, 18-3, in MVL Play; Eagles Extend Current Win Streak to 14 Games

Baseball:

Make it 14 in a row for the Marshall Fundamental baseball program.

The Eagles, as expected, thumped last-place El Monte, 18-3, in six innings.

Marshall out-hit the Lions, 15-3.

Caleb Delgado went five innings to earn the win.

Delgado allowed three runs on three hits.

He walked four and struck out 10 El Monte batters.

Offensively, Nick Chew walked twice, had two doubles, three runs and three RBIs.

Nate Callaway went 3-for-4, including a double, triple, three runs and five RBIs.

Austin Flores singled twice, scored and drove in three.

Ryan Pandullo went 4-for-4, with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs.

Caleb Delgado singled and scored.

Adan Castro walked twice, singled, drove in three and scored three runs.

Owen Hom walked, had two singles and scored a pair of runs.

Derek Esparza got hit by a pitch twice, scored and had an RBI.

The stat of the game had to be Marshall being hit by pitch NINE times.

Up next: The Eagles host Flintridge Prep on Thursday in a nonleague contest.
