Baseball:
Los Osos shook up the Baseline League title chase after Wednesday’s 6-5 victory at Etiwanda.
But it didn’t come easy.
Two days prior, the Grizzlies blew a three-run lead with two outs in the top of the seventh and fell, 7-5, at home.
This time, Los Osos led 6-2 in the bottom of the seventh at EHS.
The defending Baseline League and CIF-SS Division 2 champs rallied for three runs.
But they fell, 6-5, and with four games to play, the Eagles trail Damien (11-0) by two games.
Two errors cost Etiwanda three runs.
Dylan Goff was charged with the loss.
Goff surrendered five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over his six innings.
The future CSUF right-hander walked one and fanned six LOHS batters.
The Grizzlies got an unearned run on one hit off Cadan Montes.
Wyat Mohler went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
Mason Overacker singled twice, scored and had an RBI.
Hunter Meyer singled twice, had an RBI and scored.
Jake Monsen singled and scored.
Robert Topete went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Justin Yeutter singled in a run.
Reagan Samples went four innings for Los Osos and allowed a pair of unearned runs on five hits.
Samples walked two and struck out one.
Etiwanda got three runs on two hits over two innings off Justin Yeutter.
Cube earned the save after getting the final three outs.
Cube allowed two hits, but he struck out a pair of Eagles.
Austen Roellig went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Brady Ebel walked, singled and scored.
Parker Sobiesiak singled twice and had an RBI.
Luke Mendoza went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Jaeden Toki singled in a run.
Anthony Huezo walked twice and scored.
Tyler McEvoy singled, and Ryan Severns, Jake Furnald and Tyler Shigenaka scored one run apiece.
