Baseball:
A few weeks ago, it might have seemed improbable.
But after starting 1-4 in Valle Vista League games, Northview could actually finish in third place if they win out.
After Tuesday’s 6-2 victory over Diamond Ranch, NHS is now 2-4 in league games.
And they have one more with the Panthers, one with winless Covina, and then close the regular season with a two-game set with third place West Covina.
Jacob Ramos went four innings and allowed just an unearned run on one hit.
Ramos issued one walk and struck out four.
Anthony Flores closed out the win, going three innings and allowing one run on two hits.
Flores walked one and fanned four Panthers’ batters.
Sal Batres walked, singled and scored.
Isaac Nava tripled, scored and had an RBI.
Justin Hernandez walked, singled, scored and drove in a run.
Jacob Ramos walked and scored.
Josh Sanchez and Dylan Ramos singled for the Vikings.
