Baseball:
After opening 2023 Rio Hondo League play with four consecutive one-run losses, San Marino has now won five consecutive games.
The Titans got a seven-hit shutout from Michael Liquori in Monday’s 7-0 victory over La Canada.
Liquori walked three and fanned eight LCHS batters.
With three RHL games remaining, the Titans and Tigers both trail Monrovia by one game.
The Wildcats picked up a 2-1 walk-off victory over South Pasadena in eight innings.
But back to the SM-LC game.
Carson Kelly got the loss after surrendering five runs on five hits over 4 2/3 innings.
He issued seven walks and struck out five San Marino batters.
Tyler Giddings walked twice, singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Ryan Park walked, singled and scored.
Sebastian Liquori singled, scored and had two RBIs.
JJ Wilson went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and RBI.
Sid Danenhauer doubled and scored.
Liquori helped his own cause by drawing a walk and scoring.
