Mt. SAC clinched its three-game SCC series with Compton College, 2-1.
The Mounties claimed a 10-3 road victory on Saturday.
Sam Silversmith earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits over his seven innings.
Silversmith issued two walks and fanned seven.
Trent Merrill closed it out with two innings of relief.
Merrill surrendered one run on two hits.
He walked one and fanned a pair of Tartars.
Sevon Battle and Crixtian Taveras combined for five of Compton’s six hits.
Taveras went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
And Battle doubled, tripled and scored.
Jose Contreras singled and scored.
Joseph Giunta was saddled with the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits over six innings.
Giunta walked four and struck out four Mt. SAC batters.
Blake Hagerty went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI.
Elijah Pelayo doubled twice and scored a pair of runs.
CJ Ontiveros walked, singled, scored and had an RBI.
Joey Rossetti walked, singled, drove in a run and scored twice.
Gibby Morales walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Bradyn France and Travis Hobbensiefken drew a pair of walks, singled and had two RBIs apiece.
