Baseball:
In the fall, Ryan McCulloch will be wearing a Cal football uniform.
But for at least two more weeks, McCulloch’s weapon isn’t his body, it’s his bat.
On Friday, McCulloch went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and seven RBIs in Rio Hondo Prep’s 11-6 nonleague victory at Keppel.
Nate Curtis singled twice, scored a pair of runs and had one RBI.
Yanick Diaz went 3-for-3 with two walks, four runs and an RBI.
Ivan Tkach walked, singled twice and drove in a run.
Josh Curtis walked and scored twice for the Kares.
Anthony Hernandez went 5 1/3 innings and allowed six runs, but only was one earned.
He surrendered two hits, walked five and struck out eight Aztecs’ batters.
Alex Mustain got the final five outs without any damage.
Up next: The Kares host Flintride Prep today (Saturday) night at 6.
The Wolves (11-7, 6-2) currently sit atop the Prep League standings.
Editor’s Note: Keppel does not post their roster online, so no names were available to go with the stats on game changer.
