Etiwanda claimed a 3-2 victory over Mater Dei at the Boras Classic on Thursday.
Landon Gordon got the loss for the 15th ranked program in the state, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits.
Gordon went 5 1/3 innings, walked one and he struck out five EHS batters.
With the game tied at 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning, Parker Sobiesiak doubled.
Tyler Shigenaka would double Sobiesiak home with what turned out to be the game-winning run.
Etiwanda took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning

Austen Roellig reached base on an error, and Brady Ebel tripled the senior home.
Anthony Huezo’s RBI single scored Ebel.
Jacob Arreguin and Luke Mendoza singled in Thursday’s win.
Dylan Goff improved to 6-1 after going five innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits.
Goff issued a pair of walks and fanned six Mater Dei batters.
Cadan Montes got the save with two perfect innings in relief, including two strieouts.
Derek Gonzales had three of the Monarcs’ five hits, including a two-run home run in the fifth inning.
Austin Palmares walked and scored.
Up next: The Eagles will be back in action today (Friday) with an opponent to be announced.
