Baseball:

Maranatha has had arguably the best two-day run in program history, according to Matt Shupper.

And the MHS coach has plenty to back that up with.

On Wednesday, the Minutemen defeated (No. 7 in California & 15th nationally) Villa Park, 10-4, at the Boras Classic.

Fast forward 24 hours, and MHS outlasted No. 1 in the state, Santa Margarita, 5-4, in nine innings.

MHS vs VP Notes:

Ton walked, singled and scored twice.

Pitre had an RBI double.

Quotable:

Maranatha coach, Matt Shupper: “It’s a humbling feeling as a coach when you’re playing on the biggest stage in HS baseball at the Boras Classic. Every school, coach and player is incredible. These past few days, these kids and coaches at Maranatha have been working hard to put our name on the map, as one of the premier teams in high school baseball. I’m so proud of the effort our kids have been putting in from the top to the bottom of the roster. We have a ‘family’ within this team, and we believe that we can play with and beat anyone.”
