Baseball:
When one thinks of the Bonita pitching staff, the first two names that obviously come to mind are Justin Santiago and Garrett Patterson.
But look out for this freshman named Daniel Nageer.
Nageer went the distance in Thursday’s 7-3 victory over Paloma Valley.
He surrendered three runs on six hits.
Nageer didn’t issue a walk and struck out seven.
Walker Bush doubled, scored and drove in two runs.
Isaiah Alcala singled and drove in a run.
Ian Morales singled and scored.
Bonita got to Chapman Weber for six runs (five earned) on five hits over his three innings of work.
Weber walked four and struck out two.
The Bearcats got all seven runs in the fourth inning.
Diego Vazquez singled, scored and had two RBIs.
Bryan Bradshaw doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Colton Perez walked, singled and scored.
Garrett Patterson went 2-for-2 with a double.
Austin Owens walked, singled and scored.
Tyler Holley walked singled twice, scored and had an RBI.
Carter Alba and Jared Brunk walked, scored and had one RBI apiece.
Up next: Bonita faces Santiago today (Friday) at Norco.
