Baseball:
Another Mission Valley League game, another victory for Marshall Fundamental.
The Eagles cruised to a 5-1 victory over their visitors from Arroyo and improved to 8-0 in MVL games.
It’s also extended Marshall’s current win streak to 11 games.
Ethan Sparks had an outstanding effort.
Sparks went the distance, allowing just an unearned run on eight hits.
He didn’t issue a walk and struck out 10.
Julian Barajas went 3-for-4 with a double and the only RBI for Arroyo.
Carlos Salcedo had a game-high four hits and scored.
Barajas went the distance on the mound and allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits.
He walked one and fanned seven Eagles batters.
Jesus Flores singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Trevor Lain doubled, scored and had an RBI.
Nick Chew went 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and run scored.
Wes Pendleton singled, scored twice and drove in a run.
Ben Muro singled and scored, and Caleb Delgado singled.
Up next: The Eagles host Pasadena High School on Wednesday at 3:30.
