Etiwanda Sweeps Chino Hills After Saturday’s 10-2 Baseline League Victory at Quakes Stadium; Goff, Roellig & Huezo Shine for Eagles

Baseball:

On Saturday morning, Etiwanda and Chino Hills met up at Quakes Stadium in a Battle of the Baseline League.

And it featured a pair of programs that are currently going in opposite directions.

The Eagles claimed a 10-2 victory to remain unbeaten in league, and they extended their win streak to six games.

Chino Hills dropped their eighth consecutive game, including six in Baseline League play.

EHS got five runs in the top of the second and that was more than Dylan Goff would need.

And the Eagles out-hit the Huskies, 13-5, to improve to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in league.

Goff went 5 1/3 innings and allowed one run on three hits.

He issued a pair of walks and fanned eight CHHS batters.

Cadan Montes got the final five outs.

Montes surrendered one run on two hits.

He walked one and struck out two.

Joel Gutierrez had two of Chino Hills’ five hits.

Dillon Anderson and Luc Dowling both singled and had one RBI apiece.

Tyler Stull walked twice and scored.

Aidan Langley went four innings and allowed seven runs (three earned) on nine hits.

He walked a pair and struck out two.

Austen Roellig went 3-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored.

Anthony Huezo singled three times, scored and had a game-high five RBIs.

Michai Harrison singled, doubled and scored twice.

Parker Sobiesiak doubled and scored.

Tyler Shigenaka went 2-for-3 and scored.

Brady Ebel was walked twice, singled, scored and had an RBI.

Jaeden Toki walked, singled and scored.

Luke Mendoza singled and drove in a run.

Trey Ebel walked and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Up next: EHS and CHHS will both be in action on Monday.

The Eagles host Rancho Cucamonga and the Huskies welcome Don Lugo.
